Texas State Capitol, Austin

XDDD

The reason why Malaysia can't be a developed (First World) country is because, this term, First World, itself is defined by European countries and also the US. Why say so? Very simple, every single time, when we talk about developed or first world, automatically, we will compare or link to European countries & US. We compare and comment that how civilized they are, how good the facilities they have and so on....Who else we link to, other than them?

D=developed

Development itself, defined by them. Malaysian, even me, often talk about how bad the situation is, in Malaysia and how good it is in D countries. The people that set the trends are those who define it. Malaysia is just one of its followers. Those being followed definitely are those who are ahead. Malaysia is always thinking inside the box. The box that was preset by D countries.

Do you know that even current demographic of US is the product of massive migration of Europeans that pour into this land? They don't have any Whites in that land originally. The native people of America looks like Pocahontas. Don't know who is she?

常常被遗忘的是Women's perspective 和 Third World Perspective。 lolllll   EHH... XDD

What the fuck is this shit????BS!!!

Me lying down in public.

不只说服,老师很想知道what shape your thoughts。

Lying down on grass in public and study....

还有,上Texas Government,当老师一直在演说的当儿,最长说的一句话,:“ I want you to think about it.

Hasta la vista !!!

  1. Amazing experience you have, base on the topic and content u wrote, truly showed that you already have the ability chunk the whole thing and split it out piece by piece with clear analysis and your very own point of view. Very interesting topic indeed! Please share more regarding of the education differences between US and Msia!

  3. Even though I didn't further my studies to UK or US itself, but studying in a local based UK university, I cant agree more with what you written. Yeah, most of the time our education system here back in Malaysia "SHAPE" your thought instead of guiding you to explore ... After a year here, I realized that it is the way we discover knowledge or learn that set our education system distinct from the so called developed countries. Local system "teach" you to be a follower; while their system allow you to be a thinker. Arhhh... and of course, me too struggling to jump out from the Malaysian way of education system here > < Have to think more. And I am glad that finally!!! Someone defending Sociology or Social Science, a subject or course which always seem as useless compare to biology, chemistry, engineering, business and etc !

    1. It is so amazing we can see things other way round. I really like Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. His work really analyse the society into different layers and although it's written in the 19th century, his theories still applicable up till now, the 21st Century!

I like this page very much! For more sharing, i would like to tell about my experience where I AM and STILL a malaysia university student. As I agree with Alison's words, the education between Malaysia and US really makes a lot of different..
For what I had experienced around me, we all were given classes like the others, but what makes different is the students' study attitude. I can't say the whole students malaysia are the same, but what I saw a study attitude is just a simple method calls "Copy and Paste". Students here are very relying on this method, how does it says? Let me get u an example: For one chapter review, if you don't know how to do it or how to start it? It's simple.. Just "Copy and Paste" to google transalte, after you know what's the content of the passage, delete thoese elaboration, take those points and "Copy and Paste" AGAIN.. and that's it! DONE! by the way, do you know the meaning or "Copy and Paste"? it means that we did not look inside it deeply or clear with the content. We were just like scanner —— scan and print. We din't even truely understand the passage that we have given for chapter review. Or maybe someone may have the ability to memorize it.. thats right. Another method —— memorize. Most of us chose to memorize it instead of analyze and understand it. If you want to ask me a theory, I would say:"hmm.. i think it is about this this this.. if not mistaken.. or let me check back and I will tell you later." As you can see, we din't have the "File" who actually to save it in our "Folder", but it has been place to "Hidden".
We can't blame the lecturer din't want to eradicate this kind of study attitude Although some lectures may have try hard to lead students the proper way to improve themselves on education, but it was the student themselves who follow the seniors and continue this phenomenon. In other case, after student's are graduate, most of them are only power on theoretically but not practical.
Last but not least, although I din't experience the education of foreign countries by myself, but what I can see through my friend Alison's passage, I was really amaze with their ways by urging students to understand what they have learn.
The comment above can't represent anything except my own thoughts and I appologize if my comment had offend you. Please do also forgive my broken english that i've used in my comment ;D
Wish all of you have a great day!
